Application Options

In the application options dialog, you can configure settings that control how the application works and how it looks.

To open the application options dialog select Options from the application menu.

Preview MDX queries

Display a screen in which any generated MDX query can be previewed and modified before it is sent to the server.

Prompt to open after export

Display a prompt that allows the exported report to be opened for viewing.

Such a prompt will be displayed after exporting a report.

Look and feel

Sets the appearance for the whole application to a predefined style.

The drop down box used to set this value contains a preview of what the style looks like.

Time before progress dialog is displayed

The amount of time (in milliseconds) before the progress dialog is displayed during an operation.

Maximum history item width

The maximum number of characters of a history item may occupy in the undo/redo menus.

User level

Sets the level of the user interface. Setting this options will hide or display certain commands based on the chosen level.

The following levels are available:

1.	Basic Only commands that are easy to understand for all users.

2.	Intermediate Also displays commands that more experienced users will understand.

3.	Advanced All commands are displayed.

Ask to save modified document before closing

When changes have been made to a document, you will be prompted if you would like to save the document before closing.

Large hierarchy threshold

Specify the number of potential members that may be loaded for a hierarchy before a size related warning is generated prior to completing the action.

Show load warnings after opening report

Display any warnings or errors that occurred while loading a report after the report has been loaded.

Warn on invalid filter

Display a warning when a filter is encountered that is invalid, e.g. defined on a column that no longer exists.

Warn when changing measure group

Display a warning when changing the measure group that the current query may be modified as result of the change.

Warn when forced to use local statistics

Display a warning when the requested statistics could not be calculated on the server and therefore must be calculated locally.

Warn when opening large hierarchy

Display a warning when opening the selection editor for a hierarchy that contains a large number of members.

Warn when placing large hierarchy on axis

Display a warning when placing a hierarchy on an axis that will load a considerable amount of members on the axis, thus potentially consuming a lot of time.
