Configuring how a report is printed and exported |
|
Each report element, by default, will be included in the printed and exported output using a default header and default sizing options. You can control how the element is printed using the Print & Export Options dialog. Opening the Print & Export Options dialog for a report element In the topic for each report element it is described how to open the dialog from the element. In general, each element will contain an Export Settings option in their Options dialog. By clicking this the Print & Export Options dialog will be opened for the element. Alternatively, most elements contain a Print & Export Options command from the options
The dialog looks as follows:
The following options control how the element is printed:
Title This is the title under which the element will be exported. It is also the title that will be used in the title area of the window in the user interface.
Include in printed and exported output By turning this option off, the element will not be included in any printed or exported output. Turning it back on will include it again.
Position within output document The value here determines where in the output an element will be placed. A lower number means an element will be placed more to the beginning of the output, a higher number will place it more to the end. This number is relative to the number of other elements, it has no absolute meaning. So is a grid has a position of 10 and a chart a position of 24, the grid will be placed before the chart in the output.
Add a description of the context Adds a description of the current query between the title and the element in the output. This description is the same as the one displayed within the data sources window when the show description option is turned on. This option is only enabled for elements that are bound to the results of a query, such as a grid or chart.
Horizontal sizing mode The available values here depends on the element involved. Not all elements support all values. If an element does not support a value, that value will be disabled. The following values are available:
Vertical sizing mode The available values here depends on the element involved. Not all elements support all values. If an element does not support a value, that value will be disabled. The following values are available:
