Maps provide a geographical view of your data, which enable you to quickly see 'where' your members are located. Common analysis operations can also be performed using the map, such as drilling, filtering, sorting, pivoting, isolating and eliminating. See the corresponding sections under "Analyzing your data" for details on how to perform these actions from the map. Add a map to the report Open a map window by pressing the Note: you must have a working internet connection to use the mapping features. Mapping key Before you can start working with maps for the first time you will need to enter a mapping key. This is a Google Maps API Premier key that you need to purchase from Google, the provider of the maps used within DataWarehouse Explorer. To purchase such a key, please contact your Google representative. Once you have a mapping key, you can enter it to use the DataWarehouse Explorer mapping features. There are two ways you can enter your mapping key:
1. Through the interface
You can enter your key in the text area and press Apply. This will use this key for the current user only.
2. In the application configuration file You can edit the application configuration file and enter the mapping key. If the DataWarehouse Explorer executable file is being used by more than one user (such as with a file share deployment), this is the recommended method. Configuring the map Before you can start working with a map, you need to define what is displayed on the map and how it will be displayed.
The process of configuring the map is explained in detail in the configuring maps section. Changing the type of map displayed You can change the type of map displayed from the combo box on the map toolbar. The following types of maps are supported:

Panning in all directions can be done using drag and drop. Just click anywhere on the map, keep the mouse button pressed and drag in the opposite direction you want to pan to. Using the map legend When displaying pins, the map legend will contain a list of all members displayed on the map. To highlight a member on the map, just click the member in the legend. This will place the mapped member in the center of the map and open the information balloon for the member. When displaying charts, the legend will display the list of members just like with pins. Also, a legend is displayed for the charts containing a description of the colors used within the charts, as shown in the example below.
When new results are available and auto best fit is turned on, the map will be sized and centered to best fit the available results. If you perform some manual zooming and panning (or auto best fit has been turned off), and would like to restore the map to its original best fitted state, you can click on the Getting mapped item information To get more information on a mapped member, click on the map pin or chart, this will open up a properties balloon with extra information regarding the member. The Info tab contains all available properties for the member. The Chart tab (only available if the mapped item is a chart) displays an enlarged version of the chart together with the chart legend. The Zoom tab contains a mini-map with of the direct area of the mapped member The StreetView tab contains a Google Street View window that allows you to view the member location from the street level. Street view is currently only available or certain locations. If Street View isn't available for the given location, a message will be displayed.
