Viewing properties

Cube objects, such as dimensions, Levels, hierarchies and members contain additional information other than the name.

This can be configuration information, such as the estimated number of members in a level, but it can also be information about a customer (member), such as his/her address or email address.

All this information on objects is displayed in the properties window.

Opening the properties window

Any object that supports properties will have a Properties menu item in its context menu.

By right-clicking on the object and selecting Properties will open the properties window.

This will bring up a window like the following:

Follow object under cursor

If you need to view the properties of many different objects, you can choose to display the properties of the object located under the cursor.

To do this, click the command from the toolbar. When you move the cursor around, the properties for the object under the cursor, if supported, will be displayed in the window. To stop tracking, click the command again or press the Esc button.

Note: to view member properties as column in the grid, see the configuring how member are displayed topic.
